102 Social Club members travelled by coach or car to the “Skyhigh Restaurant”, Mount Dandenong for our Annual General Meeting and Dinner Dance. A.G.M. R.A.A.F. MUSEUM, POINT COOK - SUNDAY 12 OCTOBER 2008.
At 9.30am sharp, 27 participants boarded the coach for our trip to the R.A.A.F Museum at Point Cook. With the largest collection of Australian military aircraft in the world, they do have more than twenty aircraft on display. On arrival our travelers were treated to home-made muffins and tea/coffee for morning tea. We were then each handed a clip-on pass to make us look official and prove we were not trespassing or stealing information and told NO photography in the grounds, ONLY in the museum. Then we headed off to the museum. A short talk and explanation about the exhibits and we were left to explore at our own pace. Everyone was surprised at the size of the display area, the planes and the memorabilia on display. We even had a look at the restoration area. Laurie’s knowledge and enthusiasm livened up the experience. At 1.00pm we all tramped off to the concrete grandstand to see the air display and learn all about wingtips, wing flaps, rivets, nuts and all parts of an aircraft we did not know existed. Although the wind was blowing at gale force it did not stop the pilot from taking to the air in his “CT4 Trainer” and show us the aircraft could still fly. Then it was off to the Werribee R.S.L. for lunch, a drink or two, a sneak in at the pokies and at 3.30pm we departed for home. A day with a few surprises, weather warm and windy. Great company. Thank you to all that attended and made it so good. Thank you to Andrew Frith for driving and the comedy video.

“Well son, your mum and I first go together in a chat room on YAHOO. Then I setup a date via email with your mum and we met at a cyber café. We sneaked into a private room where your mum agreed to download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload we discovered that neither one of us had set up a firewall and it was too late to hit the escape key. Nine months later a blessed little pop-up appeared – YOU’VE GOT MALE it said.
