AUGUST 2011.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – SATURDAY 30th July 2011.

This year’s venue  was the Box Hill Golf Club. The scene was set and the room overlooked a floodlit golf course. Some were very tempted to indulge in a game of night golf. Fantastic music, great food and lots of lucky “ball” prizes made for a very successful evening.  A very big thank you to all those involved in the organizing the evening.

The committee for 2011/2012 is as follows:

             President     - Terri Williams
             Vice President - Brian Woodward
             Secretary      - Emma Williams
             Treasurer     - Jessica Somerville

General Committee Members:

Bob McDonald, Lyn Mills, Jean Aldridge, Di Vaux and Rod Smith (Vending).

The new committee met on Wednesday 3rd August and a wide variety of events have been planned and are detailed later in this newsletter.

This year will see a re-activation of the club’s website and the creation of a FACEBOOK page. Watch for more details on this.

As always, this committee is seeking ideas for events and ways to improve the communication process. Please feel free to speak with a committee member or jot your ideas down and place in either the red box at number 79 or the letter box at 60 – both these are located in the lunch rooms.

Just a reminder to those who may have forgotten to renew their memberships – being a member of the social entitles you to many benefits including subsidised and sometimes FREE events. With so many events already planned for the remainder of this year it would be a shame to miss out!

MEMBERS’ DRAW.

This year one lucky member will receive a voucher to a certain $value which can be used to offset the cost of any event during this social club year.  All financial members names, are placed into a draw and at each monthly meeting a name is drawn – IT COULD BE YOU!

• $2 per number  - Allocated on a first in best dressed basis and you can have more than one number.

• The winner of each draw will receive $60. This will be given to the winner on first business day after the draw and paid in cash.

• The winning number is the FIRST SUPPLEMENTARY NUMBER out in every SATURDAY night’s tattslotto.

• You may have the same number(s) each week and you are welcome to pay in advance.

• If you haven’t paid for your number that week and your number comes up – the prize pool jackpots to the following week’s draw and paid to that winner.

LET’S TRY FOR OTHER DRAWS DURING THE WEEK as demand grows we will attempt this.

SATURDAY 20TH AUGUST- $30 members $40 non-members. Price includes Wine tastings, cheese platters and BBQ lunch. Coach departs depot at 11am.

QUEEN VICTORIA MARKET
THURSDAY 25th AUGUST- $5 members $10 non-members. Coach departs depot at 10am and will leave the market at 1pm.

SEPTEMBER

MYSTERY DAY TRIP
WEDNESDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER- Coach will depart depot at 10AM and will return to the depot by 1:30pm, further details will be advised ASAP

SATURDAY 17th SEPTEMBER- Venue and price to be advised as soon as they are available. (EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST WELCOME)
