We have some great events coming up but here’s a little of what’s happened since February……

WINERY WANDERS

On Saturday 13 March 2010 the first Winery Wander
departed the depot for a great day. First stop was BIANCHET WINERY,
where some early wine tasting, coffee and for some breakfast. They have
the best PORT….well it tasted good at 10.30am. The group then moved on to YILEENA PARK. The proprietors, Bob and Diane were very welcoming. A truly great morning tea and some fabulous stories from Bob about the Black Saturday fires saw the group relaxing over wine, totally enthralled with his storytelling. Quick stop in Yarra Glen before moving to HELENS HILL where once again there was ample time to sample and enjoy a quiet glass or two amongst beautiful surroundings. The off to KELLYBROOK winery to complete the tour. After tasting of ciders, wines, ports and apple brandy we settled under the shade of a large tree to enjoy a glass of what took our fancy and for some, devour “MERLOT” chocolate.

A BIG THANKYOU TO GRAEME GREEN FOR DRIVING.

On Saturday 27 2010, the second leg of the tour departed the depot under the careful guidance of TREVOR MCDONALD. This group had a fantastic day and if the grapevine is correct, were quite heavy buyers of the bottled stuff.

A BIG THANKYOU TO TREVOR MCDONALD FOR DRIVING.

SUNDAY MARKETS.

To date we have visited Williamstown Market and Healesville Market. Whilst the numbers have been small each group have been delighted with the trip.
A BIG THANKYOU TO CHRIS BELL (WILLIAMSTOWN) AND MARTIN POTTER (HEALESVILLE) FOR DRIVING OUR GROUPS SAFELY.

CIDER FESTIVAL – KELLYBROOK.

On Saturday 1st May a cheerful band of merrymakers set out for Kellybrook winery to delight in the Cider Festival. The bus was parked and a huge oak tree was found for shelter, as it turned out there was no rain just sunshine and a lot of very merry people. There were cider tastings as well as wine tastings, curries to be had or if you fancied a ploughman’s lunch, or a pie. Toffee apples and apple pies for the sweet tooth. There were dancers and entertainers and a storyteller. All in all a great day!
A VERY BIG THANKYOU TO LIZ MCDONALD FOR DRIVING.
